Sterling Excel Transponder Thatcham Cat 2 Immobiliser
Toad Sterling Excel Cat 2 immobiliser, formally known as the Toad Powerkey, it is supplied with user manual, Installation certificate, wiring and mobile fitting. If you want just a simple immobiliser and you want to get in and drive away this is the system for you. Toad have been known for their reliable products for years and they still have the best products to this day.
It is one of the most simple to use Cat 2 transponder immobilisers and just requires the
transponder transmitter to be attached to the ignition key and when you insert your key in the ignition barrel,
the systems reads the encrypted transponder ( coded tag ) through a receiver aerial that is installed around steering column or ignition barrel this automatically recognises the transponder and disarms your immobiliser. It’s as simple as that!
Sterling Excel has been rigorously tested by the insurance industry’s recognised research
centre to pass as a Thatcham Category 2 vehicle immobiliser.
When the vehicle’s ignition is switched off and the keys are removed from the ignition, the
immobiliser will start to arm and a red LED will illuminate. During this period, the
ignition can be switched back on, cancelling the arming and permitting the vehicle to be
started as normal. If after twenty to thirty seconds the vehicle has not been turned back on, then the
immobiliser will automatically “arm” making it impossible to leave your vehicle unprotected.
All immobilisers are Thatcham CAT 2 approved and we are fully TRI Approved and Thatcham trained by each brand to fit their products to a very high standard. All devices come with a long warranty period.
